Artwork and Design Guidelines
What file types do you accept?
Image Files
We accept the following formats for image files: PDF, EPS, TIFF, JPEG, GIF and PNG. The minimum file resolution we recommend is 200dpi. If the resolution of your image is below this it may affect the quality of your finished product.
Text Files
We accept the following formats for text files: PDF, TXT, DOC and RTF.
What is the maximum file size for uploading my artwork?
Our maximum size upload per image is 10MB. If any individual image exceeds this value we recommend using Winzip to compress the file or alternatively e-mailing the file (s) to us at artwork@comicstripcanvas.co.uk. If emailing please ensure you quote the name the order was placed in.
Wrapping (Canvas orders only)
Whichever frame size you choose your canvas is 'wrapped' around the frame as part of the production. To avoid losing any of your chosen design we apply a single block colour to the 'wrapping' area. This colour will be one that is predominant in your chosen design to maintain continuity. Should you wish to select your own colour or have any questions relating to this subject, please get in touch prior to ordering.

Proofing
Whichever product you decide on our design team will produce your order to your specific requirements (which can take up to 3 working days). Once the artwork has been completed an electronic proof is sent to you via email for your approval. If you are happy to proceed to production, please reply to this email giving authority to proceed. PLEASE NOTE: Your order will not be produced unless we have received this confirmation from you.
Comic Book Covers
Our Personalised Comic Book Covers are fully customised on your instructions. Once your order has been placed and image (s) uploaded our designers get to work on your chosen image and accompanying text, to create your unique cover image for the fictional Comic Book Ka-Pow! Your chosen image is 'cut out' from the image you upload which means that we remove the background and drop it into our Comic Book Cover template from where our unique Comic style filter is applied to your image. You decide on everything from the background and text box colours, date of publication, Header and Footer Text and Comic Book Title (should you wish to change it from the default Ka-Pow!).
Comic Icons
Our Personalised Comic Icons are fully customised on your instructions. Once your order has been placed and image (s) uploaded our designers get to work on your chosen image and accompanying text, to create your Comic Icon. Our unique Comic style filter is applied to your image and your chosen text is added to the text boxes with your chosen colours.
Comic Strips
Our Personalised Comic Strips are fully customised on your instructions. Once your order has been placed and images uploaded, our designers get to work to create your unique Comic Strip. Our Comic Strips are designed using a preset template to which your images are placed. To build your Comic Strip we require 12 images to be provided. These images need to be numbered from 1 to 12 to indicate where you wish them to be placed in the layout. Your Comic Strip can be produced in either Vertical or Horizontal orientation. Examples of our layout templates are shown below. Please note that some cropping of your images may occur depending on where each image is placed within the Comic Strip. Once the layout is created our unique Comic style filter is applied to all your images.
Terms & Conditions For Personalised Orders
1. The terms and conditions form part of the agreement set out above.
2. Comic Strip Canvas (“the company”) will carry out work as set out above.
3. The company accepts no responsibility for images supplied by the customer, which may infringe copyright. The lawful property of some third party and accordingly the customer indemnifies the company against any damage, loss costs, claims of expenses arising out of any infringement for any such copyright, trademark or design and will support the company in any litigation arising out of any such breach and will indemnify the company in respect of the cost of such litigation.
4. On sight of a sample proof of the intended order the customer must give their approval to commence production of the order either by signed acknowledgement of the sample proof or by electronic communication (e-mail).
5. Payment shall be made in advance via our secure online payment system either by debit/credit card payment or Paypal.
6. Should the order arrive with the customer in a defective condition then this must be reported to the company within 14 days of receipt and arrangements for a replacement / refund where applicable will be made.
7. The company shall not be liable for any breach arising out of strikes, war, riot, lock-out, legal restraint, material shortage, fire, breakdown, Act of God or similar.
8. The company and/or the agent will be liable to the customer for any loss or damage arising directly out of any breach by the company and/or agent of this agreement but not for any further or other consequential loss.
9. The customer shall not assign or otherwise transfer any of its rights of obligation under this agreement and these terms.
10. The relevant law of this agreement shall be the law of England and the only forum for legal proceedings shall be the high court of Justice of England to whose exclusive jurisdiction the parties hereby submit.
These terms and conditions adhere to and comply fully with the Consumer Credit Act 1974
